So, let's see...what's been happening today...?
a young gal in Alabama is given detention because she hugged one of her really good friends because something had happened with one of her parents...
the Congress begins to figure out how they're going to keep their promise to the American people to end the war and stop the funding for Haliburton, Dick Cheney Enterprises, Blackwater, et al...even whilst the enlisted man/woman has their family have to go on welfare to survive...and when they come home they receive health care like they do in a third world country...and the report this morning is that 1 in 4 homeless are veterans!!!!...with the government looking for any way they can to deny them services...no college education here, my son/daughter...you are trailer trash...throwaways...yes, you served us...you served our agenda...oil...permawar...but you are not much in the overall scheme of things - really, do you believe you are?!
And the Democratic (that would be Wusses in the guise of changing the system) controlled Congress, and the Republicans (that would be the "They don't really matter to the Overall Scheme of Things as we control the Planet type folks") continue to think that we (that would be you and me, the everyday folks) don't matter unless we're spending our money without thinking about what we're buying (that would be crap food and crap toys for our kids) - as the news men/women (that would be "Lackies for the system because they're no longer newsmen/women, rather fearful 'on their knees' 'I want to keep my job/condo/house/etc., etc., ad naseum/ stuff folks") - no more Walter Cronkites, Edward R. Murrows...they are 'Wow - Paris Hilton, O. J. Simpson, Anna Nicole Smith - reporters...Sad...but then 'Brave New World' and '1984' and 'The Sheep Look Up' loom large in our current environment...and the WordSpin is such that the everyday folk have to really do the the research to see through the crap, yes?
And my words are always the same...
Do your own research.
Don't believe what ANYONE tells you - including me.
Do you really still take anything at face value????
Did Jesus really only talk about Gay Marriage, Abortion rights, and Capital Punishiment???

PA GOVERNOR ED RENDELL ON THE DEBATES...Do we know any more?
You know, Governor Rendell has a really good point: "GOTTCHA" politcs sucks. For me, to watch grown men never talk about what their platforms are...explain to me WHAT they are going to do about a war that a general just said yesterday could last 50 YEARS!...tell me WHY we can't pass a health care bill for the children that will ONLY cost the TOBACCO SMOKERS money and NOT tax all Americans!?...WHY can't we have single payer healthcare - it'd be cheaper for EVERYONE except the Health/Keep Us Sick Industry and Big Pharma...and WHY do Newspeople (and I use the termly loosely, because there are no real newspeople any more - oh, maybe Keith Obermann, until they find a way to take him off the air) just waste time with ridiculous cah-cah they could control and don't in these debates...or worse yet, use NEWScasts (note the use of the term NEWS) to talk about Paris Hilton, Dog the Bounty Hunter, movie stars, Anna Nicole Smith (they almost brought her back to life they spent so many hours talking about her)...could it be THEY ARE AFRAID!!! SCARED? WUSSES?
So why don't these men (in both Republican and Democrat debates) attend to their own issues - and our real ones - and simply attack each other and especially Hillary?
The only explanation I can come up with is that they don't have anything of any value to tell us.

Although President Bush has every right to have his policy goals articulated by his appointees, recent reports of top scientists being censored by the administration are indeed troubling. Altering presentations does not alter reality.
The White House has a considerable record of charges that it attempted to edit or censor scientific information to conform with political goals. Among them:
Earlier this year, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was accused of censoring experts on polar bears about the potentially harmful effects of climate change on the creatures.
Goddard Institute for Space Studies Director James Hansen said earlier this year that Bush administration officials had attempted to stop him from delivering a speech in which he urged prompt reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases.
As he was leaving his position as U.S. surgeon general, Dr. Richard Carmona testified before a House committee that the White House would not allow him to speak on aspects of stem cell research, comprehensive sex education, emergency contraception or other politically charged topics.
In 2003, Council on Environmental Quality Director Philip Cooney is said to have made more than 300 changes to an Environmental Protection Agency report on global warming, supposedly exaggerating uncertainties about global warming.
The latest example of questionable political involvement in matters of science involves Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Gerberding, a highly regarded infectious disease specialist, was set to deliver written testimony to a Senate panel on how climate change could effect the spread of disease.
Gerberding was prepared to present 12 pages of testimony to the committee, but after submission to the Office of Management and Budget for review, the testimony was reduced to six pages. Gone, among other statements, was one stating: “Populations in Midwestern and Northeastern cities are expected to experience more heat-related illnesses as heat waves increase in frequency, severity and duration.”
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino told reporters Gerberding's testimony was cut because, “in the draft there were broad characterizations about climate change that didn't align with the IPCC.” The IPCC is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which periodically issues reports on climate change research, including two this year. A number of scientists at UCSD's Scripps Institution of Oceanography have been involved in drafting these reports. Further examination, however, revealed no inconsistencies between the IPCC report and Gerberding's speech.
At this point, more than 12,000 scientists have signed a statement criticizing the Bush administration for manipulating science. With the many public health challenges confronting the nation and the world, Americans have a need and a right to know the truth. All our lives could depend on it.

I practice…
Everyday…
Awakening ONEness in me.
For ONEness sleeps contentedly.
It knows who it is.
And it rises when we reach out to another of us…
It stretches…shedding Slumber from it Self…
And smiles.
Finally.
Another Spirit becomes a Seeker…
‘And I grow in Strength with each one awakening Me.’
And now they will practice awakening Another of Us…of the ONE.

A quick evening post on 18 October 07
You know, Staph infections - MRSA - somethin akin to what my Dad had when they were doing his knee replacement - is running rampant through the schools here in the east (don't know yet about the rest.) Make sure your kids and you wash your hands lots and throughly. Use that stuff that you leave on as well. One of the kids has staph at our school. Up in Virginia it's really bad. I watched the news last night on pbs and a couple of others, and online, and they are saying that it could kill, proportionately, as many as aids did last year.

The drought continues to worsen here in the southeast. Now it's spreading up to the mid-atlantic, I'm reading. Let's conserve the best we can, yes?

Watched Frontline last night. My hubby was bowled over by the stuff they were saying. No news to me (the little ol' researcher hardcore type). Dick Cheney - from his Pennsylvania days - has been just waiting to slice up the constitution and the bill of rights for an imperial presidency and control of...what? Permawar? The remaining oil reserves? Don't be fooled - oil is, indeed, finite, and they WILL fight over it, rather than re-co-create our society in a sustainable way.
But the old order is dying...interdependency, and what Jesus said in the red print (like We are One with God, one with each othere...or if you have the faith of a grain of mustard seed, you could do greater things than he did...things that make you go hmmm.....Jesus the radical said, "Blessed are the PeaceMAKERS." Hardest job with the fewest earthly benefits. But the spiritual and eternal benefits? Better think it over folks. And for you Rapture folks...best check the red print...you could just be left behind because you weren't peaceMAKERS and you DIDN'T caretake the earth....hmmmmm....

Anyway, I'm sure some of you know how when you're reading stuff on the net, you check out one link...then wind up at another...and there's another one that looks interesting...and so it goes. So below is my post to Mr. Polman's blogspot blog. Things that make you go hmmm....Peace & Awareness & do your own research.

From a South Philly expat living in rural Georgia and having lived in California as well as Europe (I prefer s-aging to aging, thank you), I should like to ask just a few questions...
1. Has anyone ever considered that with the abortion debate (by whatever name one cares to choose or argue about) having gone on...and on...for how many years now - and the death penalty debate (which has not too long ago been displaced by the Gay Marriage debate)...that it all - however important one sees it as - just may be a Smoke Screen for lots of other things that our government fellows have been doing? Things that make you go hmmm....
2. Does anyone ever question the background or credibility of folks like James Dobson (with all due respect, doing one's own research...looking under the surface, as it were...seems to have become a lost art - rather we believe what we are told - of course, only by those who hold similar views that we hold - or have been convinced to hold)?
3. Whilst we are arguing with one another, our infrastructure is decaying rapidly and much else. But we continue on, stalwartly, like good soldiers, to argue about the same things, year after year, with our heads in the sand about other things, and never doing our own research across the board (and under the headlines). Apologies to those who do, indeed, do the research - including even, dare I say, the press from other places.
4. And finally, we continue to debate the issues above, and once our children are born, we have a President who has just vetoed a bill that would provide some health care for low-income and lower middle income children. Isn't it humane and within the tenets of all manner of religious beliefs to realize that it's okay to include a few middle class children in the plan, whose parents struggle with the high costs of health care?
And by the way, the statement from the president about it taxes Americans...It ONLY taxes the Americans who smoke! So what - my hubby smokes and will regardless of the tax on the packs.Do the research folks. Believe the hype, go along with the heard...you may as well just sit down and give up the rest of your rights (remember some that our founding fathers fought so hard for are now gone or so riddle with holes that they look like swiss cheese.)God bless/help America.

Circuit City...Getting Rid of Experience to Make Room For Cheap...from the CS Monitor

So everyone is in a Moment of Choice.
So is Circuit City.
But their decision to lay-off Older, better paid, more experienced workers (usually with more expertise, so when you have a question about something they might even know it)...
JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY...
AND THEN HIRE EITHER DIFFERENT WORKERS OR THE SAME ONES BACK
AT MUCH LESS PER HOUR THAN BEFORE.
IS TRULY SMARMY.
It takes Greed & "I could care less about you or your Life" to a whole new level (and that level would, indeed, be very low.)
I'll just bet that the folks running Circuit City are not taking major pay cuts - or leaving to make room for lower paid executives.
So, what is our Moment of Choice?
Well, there are one or two folks over 40 in this country.
I suggest that we consider spreading the Word...Buy somewhere else.
Buy where Experience/Expertise/Service are valued.
Buy where folks are paid for how they perform and what they bring to the job.
Buy where folks can make change off the computer....
Why would those of us who are
Literate
Computer-savvy
Over 40 (or under 40 and value skills/experience/expertise/service)
Have the money to go buy their products
Continue to purchase anything at all from Circuit City?
LET'S BUYCOTT (BUYCOTT means not bothering to protest against, but rather to applaud/reward/buy from those whose BUSINESS ETHICS involve INTEGRITY.)
At the End of the Day it's about US. Is this a trend we are deciding to encourage by continuing to buy from Circuit City?
I say let's buy from somewhere else.
So decide and encourage...and if you agree, spread the word.

BUYCOTTS...Actualizing Who We Say We Are
Okay, so I'm unhappy that my beautiful, spirit of unconditional love, animal was killed...poisoned. So where do we go from here?
A few ideas:
1/ Let's stop complaining about what the big corporations do in order to make PROFIT (the God they worship). They aren't going to change. And, at the end of the day, it's about US. (read Miguel Ruiz' Four Agreements: http://www.miguelruiz.com
2/ Let's BEGIN TO BUY LOCALLY - REMEMBER: DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Don't depend on others to do anything. It's like believing that if you give away your Freedoms that 'someone' 'out there' in 'government' is going to protect you from 'terrorists' - PLEASE LET'S GET REAL!!! Think about your own house...if someone wants in, what are you going to do to stop them? Gotta gun? Okay, fine. What if there are several folks breaking in, also with guns? And you're fast asleep when they break in...Let's BE REAL! No one can protect you but you. No one can be informed about your life but you. so, do your research on what's available in your area and BUY FROM THEM!
3/ It's a waste of time to boycott. They laugh at us. What 'they' don't laugh at is this:
SPEND YOUR MONEY BUYING THE THINGS THAT WORK FOR YOUR BODY, YOUR LIFE, YOUR KIDS' LIVES, YOUR PETS' LIVES, ETC.
IF YOU SPEND ENOUGH RESEARCH AND MONEY IN BUYING THE THINGS AND PRODUCTS THAT BRING YOU A/HEALTH B/AWARENESS C/EFFICIENCY D/ENVIRONMENT SAVING TOOLS, THEN.....
Just like Wal-mart is now stocking ORGANIC FOODS! - So, too, Big Business will FINALLY get the idea that they can make a profit from DOING IT RIGHT!!! DOING WHAT REALLY WORKS FOR EVERYONE!!! ('Everyone' would include US, yes?)
Let's stop being a victim/woe is me/it's someone else's fault Society and stand up like men and women who came from the Founding Radical Fathers of this great Country and say....

3/ It's a waste of time to boycott. They laugh at us. What 'they' don't laugh at is this:
SPEND YOUR MONEY BUYING THE THINGS THAT WORK FOR YOUR BODY, YOUR LIFE, YOUR KIDS' LIVES, YOUR PETS' LIVES, ETC.
IF YOU SPEND ENOUGH RESEARCH AND MONEY IN BUYING THE THINGS AND PRODUCTS THAT BRING YOU A/HEALTH B/AWARENESS C/EFFICIENCY D/ENVIRONMENT SAVING TOOLS, THEN.....
Just like Wal-mart is now stocking ORGANIC FOODS! - So, too, Big Business will FINALLY get the idea that they can make a profit from DOING IT RIGHT!!! DOING WHAT REALLY WORKS FOR EVERYONE!!! ('Everyone' would include US, yes?)

Animals, Humans and the Contaminated Food We Eat
He was 11 when I unwittingly gave him poisoned food, and he died.
For 11 years - from the day I found him at 2 weeks old & brought him back to health, Lazarus Blues was a cool animal guy - accompanied me across country a few times, was bright and sociable, & a 151 lb dog everyone who met him loved. He didn't have a mean bone in his big ol' body &, up until mid-December, was pretty darn healthy......
Until big profit and the deceitful, lyin' big businesses killed him...poisoned him.
You know, the food began coming from Menu Foods on the 3RD OF DECEMBER!!! When were we told about the recall? MARCH!!! Oh, gee, do you think that might be a bit deceitful?! A tad criminal!? Naw - after all, they're all just animals, eh?
Really? Read 'FAST FOOD NATION' - required reading in a few aware high schools. Then you'll know what your kids and you are eating as well!
Do we really believe that Big Food corporations (for example, Monsanto and their genetically modified Brave New World) really give a rat's poison about what we eat or how sick we get as long as they profit?!!!
Back to the recall: I heard on CNN News this morning that the FDA is saying that only 14 animals have died - GET REAL!!! PLEASE!!! The reported total I know of, just little ol' me, is in the 100s and climbing! What's up here?!
And why are we importing wheat or anything to do with wheat from China??!! Or anywhere else for that matter, when we have farmers here who could do it?! Do you truly believe the story about something having happened in China in some rural province - WHERE WE CAN'T POSSIBLY CHECK TO ENSURE THESE GUYS IN THE FDA/BIG HUMAN/ANIMAL FOOD BUSINESSES are telling us?!!
Sure. Right. We believe you. Yep. We'll just continue eating your crap and then wonder why we all have cancers and diabetes and more. Then we can all go to your 'stay sick' medical establishments and receive MORE PILLS FROM BIG PHARMACEUTICAL CORPORATIONS - THE ULTIMATE DRUG PUSHERS OF ALL - JUST WATCH TV!!!
Am I angry? You bet.
Am I stupid? Nope.
DO YOUR RESEARCH, FOLKS!!! DO...YOUR...OWN...RESEARCH...PLEASE!!!
There's a very old expression: Buy locally, think globally. It works. Here in my state, there are plenty of local farmers, Co-ops, even folks who grow organic beef, chicken & pig (you know, the kind of farmers who don't push downed or diseased or infected animals through the process to our tables because - hey, they're just stupid CONSUMERS - what will they know?!) Buy from the local folks.
Let me repeat that: BUY FROM THE LOCAL FOLKS!!! Go visit them. Take the time. It could mean your life, your children's lives, and & lives of your pets.
One more thing for this post:

START BEING CITIZENS AGAIN - FULL ON AWARE CITIZENS WHO DO THEIR RESEARCH...KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING.
