A MUST SEE Interview by Noam Chomsky

Noam Chomsky is an amazing man. I discovered him late (but better late than never - maybe that's why he makes so much sense - because now I have more sense!)

Top Ten Worst Things About the Bush Decade

This is, perhaps, one of the best put together, well-written, set of brief analyses of this past decade. It's a worthwhile read, if you like reading truths.

If - as Dickens said in A Tale of Two Cities - 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of time'... then for the Oligarchs - the Power Elite - it was the best of times.

For the vast majority of We the People, across the planet, it has been the worst of times.

Top Ten Worst Things About the Bush Decade

May the New Year bring Awareness untainted by Spin - and Courage to stand up as One. We are all One - let's practice.

NYTimes Blows The Whistle On Drug Industry's Dirty Tricks

Amazing.

Here's a petition to remind the president about his promise not to put people in positions of power and influence in our agencies who come right out of the very corporations and entities that they are tasked with policing, monitoring, and having the teeth of enforcing the regulations and laws we have put in place.

http://action.panna.org/t/5185/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=2150

This is about us.

This is about allowing or not allowing the practice of putting these folks in these positions, no matter what we think. Actually, it is assumed that we DON'T think? Is that true? Did our Courage fall through the sofa cushions in front of the TV? Well, reach under the couch and

scoop it up. And let's go.
Collectively keep looking at this issue.

Then...

We can go to the next REAL-LIFE issue

and resolve it, move it forward, work on it..together.

We are ALL ONE.

Somos UNO.

The Together We Can Change the World Song

Together we can!
Maybe it's not We the tired, worried, couch potatoed out Baby Boomers that change things anymore (although we did in every generation we've lived through until now.)

Orwellian Health

War is Peace... Love is Hate... Remember George Orwell's '1984'? Read below and make sense of the listed headlines!

Vitamins and mineral supplements will be taken from us (gee, are they bad for us? Can we not tell what is good or bad for us? Workable or non-workable?)

Smoking can be good for Us? Hmmm...

It's a paradigm shift we're in - and it can go either way. Which way are you going? The way of Thought and Light and Love? Or the way of Control and Orwell's Future Think book scenario? Blessings. Stand up.

Let's talk straight about Health Care, yes?

Let's drop the congresspeople - most of whom have agendas - and let's get real. This is one of the best, no yelling, no screaming, talks - from the reality of him and his father - about Health Care and our voices (our voices: the everyday folks like you and me and our children, grandchildren, and grandparents and parents.) Whatever "side" you're on (I'm on the Human Side myself) I think you'll find this a worthwhile view. Blessings. Let's get up - stand up - together - as One.

Bark Bark Woof Woof: An Informed Public

Bark Bark Woof Woof: An Informed Public

Just discovered this blogger and it's a video with brief text. He has a valid point: taking the U.S. back to where the founding fathers were means that the gentlelady speaking would not be allowed to speak. She would certainly not be taking part in a debate. Black folks would still be slaves, many native Americans would still have their land...etc., etc., you get the picture.

And from whom are we taking our country back, pray tell? If everyone is so incensed, then where were they the last eight years, because President Obama has only been in office for a couple days over 200 - can he possibly be responsible for everything???

Or...is this about more than Health Care? Could it be about the fact that President Obama has a black father and a white mother (one with more amino acid in his skin that the other? Hmmmm... Could this explain the rise in Hate groups? Swastikas on a black congressman's office sign? Hate letters calling him nigga, with our President in a hate-filled caricature?

And why aren't the Republicans decrying this? The talking heads bobbing right? Nope. The Right has Sarah Palin using her special needs child as a foil for her remark (read: Lie) about the president having "Death Panels" to pull the plug on people.

No one does the research. It's all there to read. The fact is that it is still being written. I watch TV and just can see how the Germans (bless them, they've been living with the terrible days of WWII and Hitler so long - and we won't let them forget, even though many weren't even born then - but the horror should never be forgotten.)

What else should never be forgotten is this: that if you believe the hype; the mis and half truths, spun to suit an agenda, then you have the potential to be sheep - just as those folks who were hurting were so easily led by Hitler into blaming other people for their problems.

If you only get up off the couch to scream at others, then sit down again. It's were you're most comfortable. Turn on the boob tube and listen to those screamers and spinners. Don't do any other research. It's easier to believe the hate and vitriol.

Going back to the founding fathers. Everyone except white, monied, propertied men can stay seated and do as they're told.

Peace. We are the co-creators of everything we do - by inaction or action; unawareness or knowledge; arrogance of ignorance.

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities...Voltaire.

GM Watch - a Project of Organic Consumers Association

After having to make a new website for GM Watch, because (oh surprise) somehow someone or ones kept cyber-attacking the last one, it is up, running, and really, really informative (as all things Organic Consumers Association does are). Here is some of the article, and the link is above.

Thanks for reading. Get Up. Stand up - as One. We're in this together - along with our children and grandchildren. May they one day look back and thank us for allowing them to have an healthy earth to live on and healthy bodies to thrive in.

GM Firms

The GM firms present themselves as operating out of futuristic laboratories and hi-tech greenhouses in order to provide farmers with innovative crops with valuable new traits. But in reality, all the leading GM firms developed out of the chemical industry and they remain the world's biggest manufacturers of agrochemicals. The leading GM corporations together control nearly 75% of the global pesticide market.

Syngenta, for instance, is not only the world's third largest seed company, it's also the world's second largest agrochemical manufacturer. Monsanto, the world's biggest seed company, is the world's fifth largest agrochemical company. That is why around 80% of GM seeds have been engineered to be resistant to weed killers (herbicides). Monsanto’s main GM product is crops resistant to glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup), creating a near-monopoly for Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, which is now off patent.

Having operated for many decades as major chemical corporations, and in the last 20 years additionally as biotechnology companies, the leading GM firms have a significant historical legacy. This makes it possible to examine their records when it comes to issues of public and employee safety and protection, regulatory compliance, customer care, etc.

This is particularly relevant to the regulation of GM crops, as it is almost entirely dependent on trust, with regulators normally basing their assessments of environmental risk and food safety on data from unpublished studies provided to them in confidence by the GM firms that developed the crop.
Below we look at the corporate character and record to date of the major GM firms.

Is Jeff Sessions a Liar? A Racist? Or just Forgetful?

"I will not vote for -- and no senator should vote for -- an individual nominated by any president who believes it is acceptable for a judge to allow their personal background, gender prejudices, or sympathies to sway their decision in favor of, or against, parties before the court."
-- Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), 7/13/09

VERSUS

"When I get a case about discrimination, I have to think about people in my own family who suffered discrimination because of their ethnic background or because of religion or because of gender. And I do take that into account."

Was Paul Wellstone Murdered?

a look into the death of the former senator. I was just research on Muscular Dystrophy and came across all the good that Senator Wellstone had done in his lifetime - both for the country and for the everyday folks - like the little guys with MD. I was struck by this article - especially in light of Dennis Kucinich's call for an investigation into the assassination ring alleged as part of the previous administration's tactics. I'm just putting this up for people to read. I still have to do more research. How about you do some and let me know? Or for those of you who have already done some on this topic, share some info.Peace. We are the researchers for the Truth and a New Day...a new Way.
