Soooo...like WOW!

I was cruzing through sites and looking for info on Mitch McConnell and how/did he/did he not serve in the Armed Forces - which would have been during Vietnam.  I came across several blogs - really cool ones - and was really impressed and wanted to respond; but I needed to sign in.  When I did - lo and behold - I discovered a blog I had actually forgotten I had!  I'd moved mostly over to Wordpress, and I have a couple of websites of my own, and so this blog went the way of most things that fade down into the library of the sub-conscious.

But thanks to a blog called, "Blue in the Bluegrass," I have rediscovered my own blog!  And how amazing that some of the posts are not so dissimilar in regard to what we are all talking about today - except the Crazy is now right out there in front of us and they don't give a crap.

So, keep an eye on this space!  I plan to use it, along with my Wordpress sites, and will be updating this one accordingly.

In the meantime, I send intentions for a New Year filled with standing up - together!

Have you ever wondered what kind of education these guys really have?

So, this fellow is going after someone who appears to be quite credible in the area of Climate Change and the credible science surrounding it all.

Not credible is Mr. Cuccinelli's belief that by harassing scientists that, somehow, his magical fairy from some land far away will come with a wand and make Climate Change go away.

With a business and an engineering degree, I ponder the potential for Mr. Cuccinelli to even understand all the papers he is demanding; which leads to pondering on whom or what he really serves.

I am compelled to ask how much more will this murderous, monolith of a mega-multi-national corporation do to We the People of the planet before even everyday sleeping folks wake up and say, "Enough!"  To poison our planet and our children and grandchildren is of absolutely no concern to them.  They do not care and they are not afraid to say it, no matter the hype they put out; the myth they spin (The "Old, Bad" Monsanto v. The "New, Green" Monsanto - that would be Soylent Green); and they will tell you. "We can't afford to lose even one penny of profit."  Yep.

...and when it's Profit-at-any-Cost, our health, our ability to make our own decisions (like knowing what's in our foods by having them clearly and completely labeled, which this monolith fights with everything they have under their control - including Congressional sycophants and at least one member of the not-so-supreme court)...and even our very lives are at risk.

Stay hungry, my friends...because eating their frankenfoods is not something you want to do; and as to curing World Hunger...if you were able to do that, would you not be MAKING companies label their foods as containing GMs?  Would you not be flying banners, blitzing airwaves, with the news that Monsanto, the altruistic, planet-loving corporation had the cure that would save lives?  H-O-G-W-A-S-H...even as they 'greenwash.'

The 'newer, greener (that would be Soylent Green) Monsanto is patenting our food supply; and now patenting animals. When they have control of our food, water is next. Who is this murderous, profit-at-any-cost entity (not people, no matter what the not-so-supreme court says). Still not sure? Ask the residents of Anniston, Alabama about the "old, bad" Monsanto who poisoned their water and caused disease and death. But hey - We the People don't matter a whit. What matters is that they control our means of survival.

Is this what Freedom looks like? Oh, and by the way... if Monsanto is so altruistic and green, why do they need hired guns (Xe aka Blackwater) to protect their transgenic crops? Ask the everyday people in Paraguay, India, and many other countries where they've destroyed the lives of farmers who farmed for centuries in their own way. But that isn't something Monsanto gives a crap about.

And whilst we're at it, how about adding Dow to the above murderous partnership. They have just requested that the components of Agent Orange be okayed to add to BT Corn. Seems that it isn't enough to fill the DNA of the seeds with bacteria and Roundup pesticides. Apparently, in addition to killing bees, butterflies; creating superstrains of weeds, that the effectiveness of the DNA invasion into our food isn't working as well anymore.

So they'll fill it with the very things that killed my buddies and many others' children and parents in Vietnam...yes. And the people tasked with looking after our food supply are: you guessed it: Monsanto and biotech ex-employees, attorneys - well-paid for poisoning us.

Get up.

Stand up.

It's our lives.

– Redefinition Of Rape: The bill sponsor Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) faced serious backlash after he tried to narrow the definition rape to “forcible rape.” By narrowing the rape and incest exception in the Hyde Amendment, Smith sought to prevent the following situations from consideration: Women who say no but do not physically fight off the perpetrator, women who are drugged or verbally threatened and raped, and minors impregnated by adults.
Smith promised to remove the language and while it is not technically in the bill, Mother Jones reports that House Republicans used “a sly legislative maneuver” to insert a “backdoor reintroduction” of redefinition language. Essentially, if the bill is challenged in court, judges will look at the congressional committee report to determine intent.
– Tax Increase On Women And Small Businesses: H.R. 3 prevents women from using “itemized medical deductions, certain tax-advantaged health care accounts or tax credits included in last year’s health care law to pay for abortions or for health insurance plans that cover abortion.” In doing so, the bill forces women and small businesses that provide health insurance that covers abortion to pay more in taxes than they would otherwise. Both economic conservative Grover Norquist and the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce noted that the bill is basically a tax increase.
– Rape Audits: Because H.R. 3 bans using tax credits or deductions to pay for abortions or insurance, a woman who used such a benefit would have to prove, if audited, that her abortion “fell under the rape/incest/life-of-the-mother exception, or that the health insurance she had purchased did not cover abortions.” Essentially, the bill turns Internal Revenue Service agents into “abortion cops” who would force women to give “contemporaneous written documentation” that it was “incest, or rape, or [her] life was in danger” that compelled an abortion.

Placement, Framing, and how to make almost anything not matter - Media

So, I'm watching the Morning Show on CNN, and here's what happens:

1. In San Francisco, at an appearance by the President, some women (who paid for their lunch and entry) raised their hands and stood up to sing about Bradley Manning.  To his credit, the president waited until they were finished (at which point, of course, they were escorted out - can't let them thar rabble rouser middle-class looking women be doin' that, y'all).

2. In the very next interview, after some very demeaning comments and glances between each of the female 'reporters' - CNN showed a short clip of a soldier on a surprise visit and his daughter meets him.  Wonderful, tears, real.

Now on the face of it, it's not about much.  But look at what is called the "framing" of the two items:

The network had to show the event because it involved the president.  The 'reporter' dismissed it, at best, not just by words, but by rolling her eyes, making the appropriately "did they REALLY do THAT?" - all as if had been, somehow, an 'inappropriate' thing to do.

The fact that the item about the soldier and his teenaged daughter was placed immediately afterward and was appropriately gushed over (it is not to diminish their moment - I am only speaking of placement and tone and how things are spun) by the two women.

NOT ONCE - other than the passing comment ("They were there about Bradley Manning") - was the critical reality of Bradley Manning, his situation, the allegations of torture, why he was being held the way he was, etc., etc. - was ANYTHING mentioned.  Nope - the only thing that was REALLY important was the soldier and his daughter; thereby eliminating, dismissing, and diminishing Bradley Manning and these women (whom by the way stayed totally within the law, were respectful, and were on key) as so much poop.

DON'T JUST WATCH THE WORDS.
WATCH HOW THINGS AND EVENTS ARE 'FRAMED.'
WATCH THE BODY LANGUAGE AND THE EYE MOVEMENT.

AND IF YOU THINK THESE ARE NOT PLANNED OR THOUGHT THROUGH, WELL OKAY, BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT.
The truth speaks otherwise.
